Job summary

Unknown is seeking a talented Mainframe Developer to maintain and enhance enterprise mainframe applications critical to daily operations. You will collaborate with architects, analysts, QA, and stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

Responsibilities include designing, coding, testing, and supporting COBOL with JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM; managing non-production environments; monitoring Control-M workflows; and mentoring junior developers in an agile setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical discipline.
• 5+ years designing, developing, maintaining and supporting enterprise mainframe applications.
• Strong hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM.
• Experience supporting batch processing, production support, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Experience with source control and deployment tools such as Endevor.
• Experience with Control-M scheduling and batch workflow management.
• Experience with EZtrieve or similar utilities is preferred.
• Experience with debugging and performance analysis tools.
• Ability to collaborate with offshore teams and cross-functional groups.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM.
• Collaborate with product managers, analysts, solution architects, and development teams to deliver scalable software solutions.
• Research, analyze, and recommend technical solutions to improve performance and reliability.
• Provide technical support for mainframe applications and troubleshoot production issues.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and operating procedures.
• Manage non-production environments, including deployments and refreshes.
• Monitor and support Control-M batch workflows for reliable job execution.
• Coordinate with release/change teams for deployments and validation.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational processes and system performance.
• Mentor junior developers and participate in agile ceremonies.
