Job summary

Saransh Inc. is seeking a seasoned Mainframe Developer to design and optimize large-scale batch and online COBOL programs within IBM z/OS. You will work across CICS, DB2, and batch environments, ensuring ultra-reliable processing and scalable APIs.

The role demands deep expertise in enterprise COBOL, JCL, embedded SQL, and z/OS tooling, with a track record in high-volume financial or logistical systems. This contract position offers hybrid work in Westlake, TX, and Jersey City, NJ.

Qualifications

8+ years of IBM Mainframe software engineering.
Experience in high-volume, transactional environments (Financial Services, Healthcare, Logistics, or Insurance).
Proficiency with COBOL/JCL/DB2/CICS in IBM zOS environments.

Responsibilities

Design, write, test, and implement complex batch and online programs using enterprise COBOL in zOS environments.
Architect and optimize online CICS applications for low latency and high throughput.
Design efficient DB2 relational structures and optimize stored procedures, indexes, and queries.
Develop and optimize JCL streams and batch scheduling utilities (IEBGENER, IDCAMS, SORT).
Perform root-cause analysis and performance tuning with debugging tools.
Expose mainframe data and logic to RESTful APIs via zOS Connect or MQ Series.
