Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Mainframe DB2 Database Administrator (DBA) to support, optimize, and automate enterprise Db2 for z/OS and IDMS environments. The role focuses on performance tuning, backup and recovery, and automation across critical healthcare platforms.

Qualifications

5+ years of hands‑on Db2 for z/OS DBA experience including design, maintenance, tuning, backup/recovery and production support.
3+ years with Db2 Administration Tools, Query Monitor, OMEGAMON, and Db2 utilities (LOAD, UNLOAD, RUNSTATS, REORG, COPY, RECOVER, SPUFI).
3+ years of advanced SQL performance tuning, access path analysis and index management in Db2 z/OS.
3+ years of JCL development, DBA job scheduling, and 24x7 production on‑call support in large mainframe environments.
1+ year designing or supporting database replication in complex enterprise settings.

Responsibilities

Administer Db2 z/OS and IDMS databases across production and non‑production environments, including migrations.
Optimize performance through SQL tuning, access path analysis, and index recommendations.
Develop automation to improve database administration and legacy support.
Manage backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery processes and testing.
Support Db2 Function Level upgrades, version migrations, RSU maintenance, and utilities.
Respond to change requests, audit inquiries, and production incidents in a 24x7 on‑call rotation.
Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to development and operations teams.
