Job summary

Amentum is seeking a seasoned M365 & Identity Engineer, Lead, to design, deploy, and optimize Microsoft 365 and IAM across a cross-cloud environment. The role requires hands-on expertise with Entra ID, Okta, and governance for security and compliance.

You will lead a team, implement automation with PowerShell, and collaborate with security and data center groups to ensure high availability and secure collaboration. U.S. citizenship is required for this remote position.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on M365 administration and engineering.
• Experience in Identity & Access Management in enterprise environments (Okta preferred).
• Experience with Active Directory, Entra ID, External Identities (B2B), Conditional Access, RBAC, MFA, and identity lifecycle management.
• Experience supporting hybrid identity (On-Prem Exchange, Entra ID Connect, federation, sync).
• US Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain M365 services including Exchange Online, Purview, OneDrive, Teams, and related services.
• Manage Entra ID identity services including CA, External Identities, MFA, SSO, and lifecycle processes.
• Manage Okta and other identity platforms.
• Support for Email platforms including Exchange 2016/SE, Exchange Online, and Proofpoint.
• Develop and enforce M365 governance, security policies, and compliance configurations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across M365, identity platforms, and hybrid environments.
• Administer IAM tools and workflows, including provisioning, deprovisioning, RBAC, and privileged access.
• Implement automation using PowerShell or scripting tools to improve efficiency.
• Monitor performance, security posture, and capacity for high availability.
• Collaborate with security, data center, and application teams on initiatives.
• Provide expertise during audits, risk assessments, and incident response.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and SOPs.
• Lead teams on small projects and mentor junior staff.
