Job summary

Amentum is seeking a M365 & Identity Engineer, Lead to design, deploy, and optimize Microsoft 365 and IAM across hybrid environments. You will lead a team of IT professionals and collaborate with security, data center, and application teams while guiding governance and compliance configurations.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of M365 administration, strong identity lifecycle management, and experience with Entra ID, Active Directory, and Okta. US Citizenship and remote telework are required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on M365 administration/engineering with a Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience in Identity & Access Management in enterprise environments.
• Okta experience preferred.
• Experience with Active Directory, Entra ID, External Identities, Conditional Access, RBAC, MFA, and identity lifecycle management.
• Experience supporting hybrid identity (On-Prem Exchange, Entra ID Connect, federation, sync).
• US Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain M365 services including Exchange Online, Purview, OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint Online, Power BI and related services.
• Manage Entra ID identity services including Conditional Access, External Identities, MFA, SSO integrations, and lifecycle processes.
• Manage Okta and other company identity platforms.
• Support Email services including Exchange 2016/SE, Exchange Online, and Proofpoint.
• Develop and enforce M365 governance, security policies, and compliance configurations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across M365, identity platforms, and hybrid environments.
• Administer IAM tools/workflows: provisioning, deprovisioning, RBAC, privileged access management.
• Implement automation using PowerShell or scripting to improve efficiency.
• Monitor system performance, security posture, and capacity for high availability.
• Collaborate with security, data center, and application teams for integrations and initiatives.
• Provide expertise during audits, risk assessments, and incident response.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and SOPs.
• Lead IT teams on small projects and mentor junior staff.
