Job summary

Sallie Mae is seeking a Senior Microsoft 365 Cloud Engineer to join our Workplace Engineering team. You will architect, implement, administer, govern, and support the Microsoft 365 platform, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Power Platform, Power BI, and Copilot.

The ideal candidate has deep technical expertise across Microsoft cloud services, with a strong background in automation, security, compliance, and regulatory requirements in financial services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience supporting Microsoft 365 cloud technologies with at least 3+ years hands‑on experience providing subject matter expert support for Exchange Online and SharePoint Online.
• Experience administering Microsoft Power Platform administration and solution development.
• Experience creating reports and dashboards using Power BI.
• Proven experience deploying, administering, or supporting Microsoft 365 Copilot.
• Experience configuring Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, and identity governance controls.
• Strong PowerShell scripting and automation experience.
• Experience implementing Microsoft 365 security, compliance, and governance solutions.
• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements common to financial services organizations.
• Experience leading technical projects and collaborating across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support enterprise Microsoft 365 services.
• Administer Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, Power Platform, and Copilot environments.
• Develop and maintain governance controls and platform roadmaps.
• Evaluate new Microsoft 365 features to improve employee productivity and collaboration.
• Provide Tier 3 technical support and escalation for complex platform issues.
• Partner with business units to optimize collaboration, document management, and knowledge sharing.
• Support migrations, modernization initiatives, and platform optimization efforts.
