Job summary

First Citizens seeks a System Engineer III to lead Copilot deployment and governance across Microsoft 365, optimizing security, compliance, and end-user value. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher and 6+ years in Systems engineering or equivalent.
• Preferred: Microsoft 365 Copilot, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint Online, Purview.
• Experience designing and implementing Copilot and governance in Microsoft 365.
• Strong data security, regulatory compliance, and information management for AI environments.
• Automation and scripting experience (PowerShell, Graph API).
• Agile delivery with Jira/Confluence/Azure DevOps; regulatory exposure in financial services.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation, configuration, and ongoing administration of Microsoft Copilot across M365 workloads.
• Collaborate with Information Security to define governance, compliance, and security frameworks for Copilot and AI-enabled services.
• Partner with stakeholders to identify Copilot use cases and design technical solutions and controls.
• Administer and optimize Microsoft 365 services to support Copilot readiness and adoption.
• Collaborate with Information Security to ensure data protection and compliance controls for AI content.
• Design, build, test, and deploy automation and scripting solutions to support Copilot deployment.
• Monitor service health, usage analytics, and adoption metrics to improve ROI.
• Act as SME during IT audits and assessments for AI and M365 services.
• Drive continuous improvement from user feedback and MS product roadmap.
