Job summary

Blue Origin's Lunar Permanence team seeks a spacecraft development engineer to contribute to GN&C subsystem requirements and verification. You will work with vehicle systems, propulsion, structures, and dynamics teams to ensure integration and performance.

The role emphasizes analyses, simulations, and tests, including hardware-in-the-loop, to validate subsystem functionality. Strong communication and leadership are essential in our fast-paced, safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering or related subject areas.
  • Experience in full development lifecycle of GN&C subsystem on at least one aerospace program.
  • Experience in development and analysis of GN&C algorithms.
  • Experience in development and testing of navigation sensors and control actuators.
  • Experience in implementation and testing of GN&C software and hardware.
  • Strong system engineering and configuration management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized and able to guide complex technical work.
  • Ability to perform in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop GN&C requirements with flow-downs to components and verification methods.
  • Manage technical budgets and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate across subsystems to define boundaries and interfaces.
  • Perform analyses, simulations, and tests to verify specs.
  • Develop verification and validation plans for software and hardware.
  • Support simulations and tools for subsystem verification.
  • Provide updates on schedule, resources, cost, and risks.
