Blue Origin LLC is seeking a senior engineer to lead the design, analyses, procurement, installation, and test of the helium subsystem for the Lunar Vehicle. You will work on valves, bottles, filters, sensors, piping, and other fluids equipment, interfacing fluid systems with other vehicle subsystems.

The role focuses on CAD design, P&IDs, interface definitions, and ensuring structural integrity under pressure and vibration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of proven experience in the design of aerospace fluid or mechanical systems.
• Experience in 3D CAD programs (Creo preferred).
• Knowledge and experience with gas systems.
• Proficiency in crafting engineering drawings with GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• Experience performing flow and pressure calculations as well as structural and thermal analysis of fluid systems.
• Proven understanding of fluid components such as valves, tubing, and pressurized hardware.
• Hands-on experience building and testing mechanical assemblies or pressurized components/systems.
• Develop and maintain interface definitions between the vehicle and subsystems.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze fluids sub-assemblies, specify and procure components, and create CAD parts/assemblies.
• Develop P&IDs and system interfaces using AutoCAD.
• Create specifications for fluid/gas components (valves, manifolds, regulators).
• Size, select materials, and analyze components for pressure, vibration, and fatigue.
• Work with suppliers or internal teams for procurement, fabrication, and installation.
• Manage project plan, cost, and schedule for sub-assemblies.
