Job summary

Vast in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Staff Lunar Environments Engineer to lead the characterization of lunar environmental hazards and translate them into concrete design requirements for habitats, surfaces, mechanisms, and crew interfaces.

You will partner with the Systems Architect and hardware teams to embed lunar environmental risk across the program, define design standards, and mentor engineers as Vast builds its next-generation lunar program from day one.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Planetary Science, Physics, Materials Science, or related field.
• Advanced degree (MS/PhD) inPlanetary Science or Aerospace Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead characterization of lunar environmental hazards and derive design requirements for habitats, surfaces, mechanisms, and crew interfaces.
• Embed environmental risk into end-to-end architecture and influence major trades across subsystems.
