Job summary

Vast is seeking a Senior Structures Engineer, Lunar, to lead end-to-end structural design for lunar habitats and associated hardware. You will own rollouts from concept through build and test, collaborating with NASA-aligned teams on interface requirements and verification plans.

The role demands 5+ years in aerospace structural design, CAD/FEA proficiency, and experience with pressurized or human-rated hardware. This is a full-time, on-site position in Long Beach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in structural design of aerospace pressurized or human-rated hardware with end-to-end ownership.
• 5+ years with CAD/FEA, NX or equivalent, and GD&T (ASME Y14.5).

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end lunar structural hardware development from concept to build.
• Lead design reviews and interface with physics, thermal, power and avionics teams.
• Develop structural loads, safety margins, and verification plans for lunar hardware.
• Create manufacturing drawings and ensure hardware meets NASA and industry standards.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues during build and test.
• Travel up to 5% for vendor meetings and on-site support.
