Job summary

Vast is seeking a Senior Structures Engineer, Lunar, in Long Beach to help shape Vast’s lunar ecosystem. You will own end-to-end design of primary and secondary structures, perform CAD/FEA work (NX and related tools), and work with NASA-aligned teams to ensure safety and reliability for a pressurized habitat.

The role requires 5+ years in aerospace structural design, GD&T experience, and a track record of delivering hardware from concept through test.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 5+ years in structural design of aerospace hardware.
• Experience owning a structural hardware item end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Responsible Engineer for end-to-end lunar engineering projects such as habitation modules, airlocks, nodes, and pallets.
• Own the design and CAD development of primary and secondary structures for lunar ecosystem.
• Define structural requirements, design loads, and safety margins for a human-rated structure in lunar environment.
• Lead hardware through design reviews and verification testing; collaborate with Life Support, Thermal, Power, and Avionics teams.
