Job summary

PRIME Electric in California is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee mid- to large-scale electrical construction projects. You will plan, lead, and deliver projects from initiation to closure, ensuring safety, budget adherence, and customer satisfaction.

The role requires a Bachelor's in CM or related field and 7–10 years of electrical PM experience, with strong skills in cost control, scheduling, and client negotiations. A strong on-site presence and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field and 7–10 years electrical project management experience, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, and engineering principles; plus accounting practices.
• Proficiency in electrical estimating, including change orders, evaluating estimates, and contributing to new estimates.
• Familiarity with project management tools and software; preference for Accubid Estimating systems.
• Knowledge of integrated job cost systems, budgeting, reporting, and final costing.
• Ability to build critical path schedules and understand sequencing across disciplines.
• Experience with design-build delivery models is highly preferred.
• Capable of active engagement in construction processes and cost-at-completion evaluations.
• Strong negotiation skills for change orders with customers.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing people and teams.
• Excellent communication, leadership, problem solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing environments and priorities.
• Ability to elicit cooperation across senior management and cross-functional teams.
• Maintains a positive attitude and collaborative work environment.
• Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead the entire project lifecycle from initiation to closure, ensuring safety, budget adherence, quality, and on-time delivery.
• Oversee project financials (SOV prep, invoicing, collections) and define scope, goals, deliverables, resources, budget, and timeline.
• Communicate clear expectations to team members and stakeholders; act as mediator as needed.
• Proactively resolve issues and address problems throughout the project life cycle.
• Manage project scope with change orders and formal approvals.
• Collaborate with field leadership and maintain a hands-on site presence.
• Lead, coach, and motivate project team members for high performance.
• Adhere to Safety Program and promote a safe work site at all times.
• Visit jobsites regularly to supervise progress and support PM team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
