Job summary

PRIME Electric is seeking a Project Manager in California to lead end-to-end construction projects, from initiation through closeout, ensuring safety, schedule, budget, and quality. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to deliver superior client satisfaction and financial results.

The position is based on-site with occasional travel to other offices and jobsites. A construction-management related degree and 5+ years underground project management

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field; five+ years underground project management experience or equivalent
• Strong understanding of construction cost, scheduling, estimating and engineering principles
• Proficiency in estimating, including preparing and presenting job change orders, evaluating estimates
• Experience with project management tools and software, preferring Accubid Estimating systems
• Knowledge of integrated job cost systems, budgeting, report evaluations, and final costing
• Proficiency building critical path schedules and understanding construction sequencing
• Experience with design-build delivery models is highly preferred
• Ability to actively engage in the construction process and evaluate final cost at completion
• Strong negotiation skills with customers for change orders
• Demonstrated leadership in managing people and teams
• Excellent communication, leadership, problem solving, and analytical skills
• Ability to adapt to changing environments and priorities
• Eliciting cooperation from senior management and cross-functional departments
• Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on work procurement and engage in business development to identify new project opportunities
• Lead the entire project lifecycle from initiation to closure, ensuring safety, budget adherence, high quality standards, and timely delivery
• Define project scope, goals, deliverables, resources, budget, and timeline with stakeholders
• Communicate expectations to team members and stakeholders, serving as a mediator
• Proactively resolve issues and address problems throughout the project lifecycle
• Manage project scope via change order forms and approvals
• Lead, coach, and motivate project team members to maintain high performance
• Adhere to the PRIME Safety Program and on-site safety practices
• Maintain a physical presence onsite and visit jobsites to oversee progress
• Perform other duties as assigned
