Job summary

Markel is seeking an Executive Loss Control Specialist to support loss control and risk engineering for property, inland marine, and ocean marine accounts. You will build strong relationships with Underwriting, Claims, RSS Team, brokers, and clients across diverse markets.

Lead risk assessments (on-site/virtual/desktop), develop risk evaluation reports, and craft guidelines to reduce loss exposure. Expect about 25% travel and ongoing technical training responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Engineering, Risk Management preferred.
• Certifications such as P.E., CSP, ARM, CFPS or willingness to pursue preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with Underwriting, Claims, RSS Team, Brokers and stakeholders.
• Develop risk control reports and guidelines to support growth of property loss control.
• Perform on-site, virtual, and desktop risk assessments for Property, IM & Ocean Marine accounts.
• Identify risks, communicate controls, and aid underwriting with decisions.
• Prepare technical training and stay current with regulatory and technical issues.
