Job summary

Qualifications

• Seven (7) years' industry experience, inclusive of brokerage and working in Third Party Logistics (3PL) environment and sales/service experience required.
• Three (3) years' experience in obtaining, retaining, growing a team and brokerage book of business required.
• Prior customer service experience preferred.
• Must possess knowledge of 3PL and transportation industry.
• Must be results oriented and able to solicit new customers and meet specific revenue targets.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of transportation analysts to buy and sell freight in a dynamic market.
• Develop and provide brokerage solutions for high-level complex freight conditions.
• Grow carrier base through increased volume, profitability and service offerings.
• Address escalated, highly complex carrier issues; provide problem resolution and win-win solutions.
• Oversee lead management of buy vs. DAT, daily load count, loads per carrier/buyer, outbound calls, margin and fuel metrics.
• Provide oversight of negotiations of rates and terms.
• Promote strong communication with team and follow ups to grow existing carrier base and reduce new carriers.
• Facilitate route optimization and increase usage of key carriers.
• Provide regular reports to senior level management.
