Job summary

Rocket EMS is seeking a Logistics Manager to lead end-to-end movement of materials and finished goods across operations. You will oversee shipping and receiving, dock operations, and transportation planning domestically and internationally, partnering with carriers and internal teams.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a related field, at least five years of logistics leadership, and a proven ability to optimize freight costs, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field.
• At least five years of progressively responsible logistics/transportation experience.
• Experience leading shipping, receiving, transportation, warehouse-support, or fleet personnel.
• Strong knowledge of domestic/international freight, carrier management, customs docs, and planning.
• Experience managing parcel, LTL/FTL, expedited, air/ocean freight services.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, transportation data, Excel, and freight reporting tools.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional coordination.
• Ability to manage competing priorities for urgent production and delivery needs.
• High attention to detail and commitment to shipment accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily shipping, receiving, and dock activities with proper PO matching and inspections.
• Ensure inbound/outbound materials meet procedures and customer requirements.
• Maintain organized, safe dock and staging areas.
• Optimize dock scheduling and carrier turnaround times.
• Establish and monitor performance standards for shipment accuracy and on-time processing.
• Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, damaged freight, and documentation errors.
• Develop and maintain standard work instructions for shipping, receiving, and transportation.
• Manage freight budget and negotiate contracts, rates, and accessorial charges.
• Coordinate with Planning, Purchasing, Program Management, Production, and Customer Service.
• Oversee international transportation and compliance with import/export requirements.
• Lead 3PL relationships and offsite warehousing; drive continuous improvement in logistics.
