Job summary

Rocket Lab is a space company with a Middle River, MD production facility seeking a Senior Logistics Coordinator I to manage domestic and international shipping for Electron launch vehicle components. The role involves coordinating inbound/outbound shipments, ensuring ITAR compliance, and partnering with multiple Rocket Lab sites globally.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, 2+ years of logistics experience, and knowledge of IATA/IMDG.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 2+ years of experience.
• Exposure to international shipping regulations.
• Knowledge of freight forwarding and customs regulations.
• IATA/IMDG knowledge.
• Strong IT knowledge, comfortable working with Windows.
• Experience with an integrated ERP system.
• Basic understanding of international shipping documentation.

Responsibilities

• Plan inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely delivery.
• Schedule transportation and resolve shipping issues.
• Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and maintain documentation.
• Identify and implement logistics process improvements.
• Train and support logistics staff to meet goals.
• Build and maintain vendor relationships and evaluate performance.
• Communicate with internal and external partners for smooth operations.
• Track and analyze logistics KPIs and prepare reports.
• Develop risk management and contingency plans for disruptions.
