Job summary
Rocket Lab in Middle River, MD is seeking a Senior Logistics Coordinator I to manage domestic and international shipments for Electron components. You will coordinate inbound/outbound freight, ensure ITAR compliance, and partner with suppliers and internal teams to keep production flowing.
This role requires 2+ years in logistics, knowledge of freight forwarding and customs regulations, IATA/IMDG, and ERP systems.
Qualifications
- Must have 2+ years of experience in logistics/shipping.
- Exposure to international shipping regulations.
- Knowledge of freight forwarding and customs regulations.
- IATA/IMDG knowledge.
- Strong IT knowledge and Windows proficiency.
- Experience with an integrated ERP system.
- Basic understanding of shipping documentation.
Responsibilities
- Plan inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely delivery.
- Schedule transportation and resolve shipping or delivery issues.
- Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and maintain documentation.
- Identify and implement process improvements to optimize logistics operations.
- Train and support logistics staff to meet performance goals.
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors and evaluate performance.
- Communicate with internal teams and external partners for smooth operations.
- Track and analyze logistics KPIs and prepare performance reports.
- Develop and implement risk management and contingency plans for disruptions.
