Job summary

Rocket Lab’s Middle River, MD facility is seeking a Senior Logistics Coordinator I to manage domestic and international shipping, ensure regulatory compliance, and support a fast-paced aerospace supply chain. This on-site role emphasizes coordinating shipments, optimizing processes, and guiding logistics staff within our growing production environment.

You will work with multiple teams to track KPIs, manage documentation, and build strong vendor relationships while supporting ITAR-style controls

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 2+ years of logistics experience.
• Exposure to international shipping regulations.
• Knowledge of freight forwarding and customs regulations.
• IATA/IMDG knowledge.
• Strong IT skills and Windows proficiency.
• Experience with an integrated ERP system.
• Understanding of international shipping documentation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely delivery.
• Schedule transportation and resolve shipping or delivery issues.
• Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and maintain documentation.
• Identify and implement process improvements to optimize logistics operations.
• Train and support logistics staff to meet performance goals.
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors and evaluate their performance.
• Communicate with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth operations.
• Track and analyze logistics KPIs and prepare performance reports.
• Develop and implement risk management and contingency plans for disruptions.
