Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in United States (MA) is seeking a Leave of Absence Administrator to oversee end-to-end LOA, disability claims, and time-off programs. You will serve as a subject matter expert on federal, state, and company leave requirements, ensuring compliant, high-quality employee experiences.

Responsibilities include managing LOA cases through return to work, collaborating with Payroll, HR Partners, and external carriers, and educating managers on policies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in leave of absence and disability administration.
• Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, state leave programs, and disability administration.
• Experience with third-party leave admins and insurers.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases.
• Experience interpreting policies and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency with HRIS, timekeeping, and case management systems.
• CEBS/SHRM or related certification.
• Experience with UKG Workforce Management/Timekeeping.
• Experience supporting multi-state leave administration in a large organization.

Responsibilities

• Manage LOA cases from initiation through return to work, including company leave programs, FMLA, state-mandated leave programs, and Short-Term and Long-Term Disability claims.
• Provide guidance on leave eligibility, benefits continuation, documentation requirements, and return-to-work processes.
• Maintain expertise in applicable federal and state leave regulations and ensure compliance with all legal and company requirements.
• Partner with Payroll, Accommodations, Workers' Compensation/Risk Management, HR Business Partners, and other stakeholders for seamless case administration.
• Develop and maintain relationships with third-party leave administrators, disability carriers, and state leave agencies.
• Deliver high-touch, employee-centered experiences reflecting company values and wellbeing.
• Educate and train managers on leave processes, FMLA requirements, state leave programs, and timekeeping practices.
• Conduct audits and reconciliations related to leave administration, return-to-work activity, denied/ canceled leaves, extended sick leave, and paid time off balances.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and support new programs, systems, and enhancements.
• Participate in cross-functional projects and special initiatives.
