Job summary

Sagora Senior Living is seeking a Sous Chef to support the Culinary Director and lead kitchen operations at one of our communities. You will prepare nutritious meals, supervise staff in daily tasks, and ensure plates meet our high standards for quality and presentation.

The role emphasizes adherence to safety and sanitation, inventory management, and coaching culinary team members. This full-time position is on-site with care-focused residents and supportive leadership.

Qualifications

• One or more years of work experience as a Sous Chef or Assistant Culinary Director in a commercial kitchen.
• Current ServSafe Certification and Food Handler’s permit required as regulated by state and local authorities.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English; able to use math for recipes and costing.

Responsibilities

• Assist Culinary Director in day-to-day oversight and supervision of the culinary department as assigned.
• Oversee the culinary department in the absence of the Culinary Director.
• Prepare menu items in accordance with recipes; cook à la carte; present plates for service.
• Maintain a safe, sanitary, clean, and organized cooking area plus monthly deep clean.
• Assist with inventory and ordering of food and non-food supplies.
• Train and counsel food service associates.
