The Aspenwood Company in Plano, TX seeks an experienced Sous Chef for a full-time role in an assisted living community. You will lead kitchen operations, design menus, and ensure high-quality meals for residents, while maintaining sanitation and safety standards.

Required are 1+ years as a Sous Chef and 3–5 years cooking experience, with formal culinary training. This on-site position offers comprehensive benefits and holiday coverage.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of proven experience as a cook or 1+ years as a Sous Chef.
• Knowledge of cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling).
• Ability to follow sanitation procedures and lead a team.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Executive Chef to create diverse menus aligned with community policy.
• Develop new and appealing dishes for residents.
• Establish work schedules and organize the kitchen for efficiency.
• Prepare high quality dishes and ensure proper presentation.
• Train kitchen staff to achieve good nutritional outcomes and enjoyment for residents.
• Maintain order and a sanitized kitchen environment; proper storage of food and items.
• Monitor stock levels and place orders when shortages occur.
