Job summary

You will document care, participate in narcotic counts, administer medications, maintain the medication room, and communicate with families and pharmacy to ensure timely orders. Requires HS diploma, 1–2 years experience, CNA/CPR, and state medication cert.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Medication Administration training/certification per state requirements.
• Must meet health requirements.
• Certified Nursing Assistant certification per state requirements.
• CPR certification.
• Strong English reading and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides medication assistance and personal care to residents.
• Completes documentation per standards to ensure care is provided.
• Participates in narcotic counts at shift change, with accurate inventory docs.
• Administers medications per Rights of Medication Administration.
• Maintains cleanliness of medication room and cart.
• Ensures new orders are faxed to the pharmacy promptly.
• Informs families when mail-order medicines need reordering.
• Documents and reports changes in resident condition per policy.
• Oversees resident aides during shifts and attends trainings.
• Attends required staff meetings and other assigned duties.
