Job summary

CIEL Senior Living is seeking a Medication Technician to provide medication assistance and personal care to residents, following established guidelines. The role involves documenting care, participating in narcotic counts, and ensuring timely medication processing.

The position requires 1-2 years of relevant experience, a high school diploma or GED, CPR certification, and state-approved Medication Administration training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Medication Administration training/certification per state requirements.
• Must meet all health requirements.
• Experienced Caregiver or CNA certification per state requirements.
• CPR certification.
• Proficiency in reading/writing/communicating in English.

Responsibilities

• Support the mission, vision, and goals of the organization; promote company culture.
• Complete documentation per standards to ensure care services meet resident needs.
• Participate in narcotic count at shift change; document inventory accurately.
• Administer medications as directed per Rights of Medication Administration.
• Participate in weekly medication cart audits as assigned.
• Assist in timely re-ordering of medications.
• Maintain cleanliness of medication room and cart.
• Fax new medication orders to the pharmacy for accuracy and timeliness.
• Inform families when mail-order medicines need to be reordered.
• Follow Physician Order Protocol for processing orders.
• Document/report resident changes in status per policy.
• Assist in creating and maintaining resident charts in EHR.
• Attend Wellness Programs and required trainings.
• Record residents’ vital signs as directed.
• Observe medication responses and report any adverse effects.
• Address concerns to promote satisfaction and good communication.
• Know and practice fire evacuation and disaster drills.
• Maintain confidentiality of personal/health information.
• Complete mandatory compliance, HIPAA, and regulatory trainings.
• Oversee resident aides during shift; ensure tasks are completed.
• Attend all required staff meetings.
