Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Moon Township, PA is seeking a Med Tech to assist residents with daily living activities and medication administration within scope of practice. The role requires CNA and Med Tech licenses, completion of Medication Aide Course, strong communication, and ability to work with a diverse nursing team.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have completed the Medication Aide Course.
• Must possess both current CNA and Med Tech license from the State Board of Nursing in good standing.
• Must satisfactorily pass 2 medication observations annually.
• Must satisfactorily pass all medication cart audits assigned.
• Must attend 4 additional hours of medication administration education annually.
• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in-writing.
• Must be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel.
• Must be a contributing member of nursing team and follow instruction of supervisor.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs, and push or carry 25 lbs.
• Must be CPR/First Aid certified, or be willing to become certified within 60 days of hire.
• Must be able to represent the community in a positive and professional manner.
• Must attend and complete all required in-services and staff meetings.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to remain calm and competent during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• The Med Tech provides quality care and assistance with activities of daily living for residents, and assists with medication administration within scope of practice.
• Must maintain knowledge of all applicable policies and procedures.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Report incidents or concerns to appropriate personnel (HCD, RN/LPN, ED).
• Perform housekeeping duties as directed by supervisor.
• Respond promptly to resident calls for assistance or emergencies.
• Assist in planning and conducting activity programs for residents.
• Follow confidentiality policies for resident information.
• Assist residents to dining room and activities, ensuring attendance at meals and events.
• Document medication administration on EMAR/MAR and Daily Log.
• Re-order medications and communicate changes to residents and families as needed.
