Job summary

Senior Lifestyle Corporation in Montgomery County, PA is hiring a Medication Technician to assist in the Assisted Living Department. You will supervise self-administered meds, dispense medications, document in MAR, and provide personal care and general nursing support to residents, including ADLs, vital signs, and daily activities.

Qualifications

• Level of Formal Education: High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Years of Experience: 1+ months of experience.
• Type of Experience: Senior Living preferred.
• Special Certifications: Current Medication Technician certification depending on state regulations.
• Language Skills: Proficient in English to perform duties and communicate with staff.
• Technical Competencies: Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Supervision of self-administered medication in compliance with regulations and company guidelines.
• Count and sign narcotics with approved personnel before accepting medication keys.
• Order medications and treatments from pharmacy or notify when supply is low.
• Notify supervisor of low supply or discrepancies with medicine.
• Receive and verify medicines against MAR and notify if discrepancies occur.
• Store medications properly and separate from other products.
• Date vials/bottles and follow pharmacy protocol on usage length.
• Weekly inspections and removal of expired medications.
• Verify MARs during changeover and report discrepancies.
• Remove discontinued medications from med cart and hand to supervisor.
• Provide personal care (bathing, grooming, incontinence care, eating).
• Provide general nursing care (vital signs, temperatures, BP, weights).
• Document in daily log and notify supervisor of concerns.
• Answer calls and assist residents as needed.
• Daily and weekly cleaning of medicine carts and restocking.
• Attend staff training and in-services; maintain medical charts within 48 hours.
