Job summary

Heritage Senior Living is seeking a dependable Maintenance Technician to keep our community safe, comfortable, and operating at its best. You will perform routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other systems, and assist with apartment turns for new residents.

The role emphasizes problem-solving, customer service, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with the maintenance and community teams. A 24-hour on-call rotation is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of maintenance experience involving electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, or related systems.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, safety information, and maintenance instructions.
• Strong troubleshooting, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Current valid driver''s license and acceptable driving record as required.
• Willingness to participate in 24‑hour on‑call maintenance coverage as scheduled.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with maintenance and community teams.
• Caring and respectful approach when working around older adults.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance throughout the building, grounds, and resident areas.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, appliances, and other systems.
• Monitor HVAC for comfort and air quality; monitor plumbing and hot water systems.
• Diagnose issues, repair or replace components, and coordinate additional service as needed.
• Respond promptly to emergency and unscheduled maintenance needs.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized maintenance areas, equipment, and grounds.
• Assist with testing inspections of building systems and maintain logs.
• Assist with apartment turns and preparing units for new residents.
