Job summary

Cedarhurst Senior Living is seeking a Cook to prepare high-quality, nutritious meals, meet dietary needs, and maintain safety standards. You’ll assist with kitchen organization and support training of new dining team members in a resident-focused environment.

The role reports to the Dining Services Director and emphasizes collaboration with kitchen staff and other departments to ensure a welcoming dining experience while maintaining food safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least one year experience as a cook preferred.
• Applicable state/county licensure required.
• Food Manager Certification, or ability to obtain, is required.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Proficiency with common digital tools including Microsoft Office and EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, and serve foods per menu cycle and recipes.
• Taste and prepare food to determine quality.
• Prepare all special dietary needs as directed by the Dining Services Director.
• Coordinate meal production with serving hours and supplies.
• Document temperature logs and cleaning schedules.
