Job summary

Cedarhurst Senior Living is seeking a part-time Cook to prepare nutritious, appealing meals for residents. You will follow standardized recipes, ensure proper temperatures, and support dietary restrictions while maintaining kitchen safety and sanitation standards.

You will report to the Dining Services Director and collaborate with kitchen and other community staff to deliver a welcoming dining experience. Prior cooking experience is preferred and CPR/BLS certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have basic food safety knowledge and comply with state/county licensing requirements.
• One year cooking experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Food Manager Certification is required or must be obtained.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality meals following menus and recipes.
• Taste and assess food quality and presentation.
• Accommodate special dietary needs as directed.
• Coordinate meal production with serving times and inventory.
• Assist in training new kitchen staff and maintain sanitation standards.
• Maintain safety procedures and follow infection control guidelines.
