Job summary

Harmony Senior Services is seeking a Food Service/Prep Aide to assist in meal preparation, dishwashing, and general kitchen operations. You will help set up and maintain clean dining areas, plate salads and desserts, and support dining room service while ensuring safety and sanitation standards for residents and guests.

The role requires physical stamina, teamwork, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays within a senior living environment.

Qualifications

• Good organizational skills and ability to work well with others as part of a team.
• Ability to work under close supervision.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen operation and use of kitchen equipment.
• Ability to understand and retain simple instructions and apply them to the position.
• Ability to stand, kneel, and walk for extended periods.
• Tolerance of temperature extremes, wet/humid conditions, and noise.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and carry heavy objects for up to 20 feet.
• Must wear slip-resistant footwear.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist cook in the preparation and presentation of food.
• Manage dishwashing area and keep dishes, silverware, and glassware clean.
• Set up and run dishwashing operation and keep equipment clean.
• Prepare food items as requested; portion and plate salads and desserts.
• Assist with dining room service and beverage pouring as needed.
• Stock food on shelves and in refrigerator; report kitchen or dining room issues.
• Attend required in-service and staff meetings; provide superior resident/customer service.
