Job summary

Harmony Senior Services is seeking a Food Service/Prep Aide to assist the cook with food preparation and presentation, manage the dishwashing area, and keep all dishes, silverware, and glassware clean. You will also help in other dining areas as needed.

The role involves preparing items on request, portioning salads and desserts, cleaning kitchen areas and equipment, and supporting dining room service while upholding sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• Good organizational skills and have the ability to work well with others as part of a team.
• Must be able to work under close supervision.
• Possess basic knowledge of kitchen operation and use of kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to understand and retain simple instructions and apply them to position.
• Must be able to stand, kneel, and walk for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items as requested.
• Portion and plate salads and desserts.
• Assist with cleaning of kitchen, including floors and equipment.
• Set up and run dishwashing operation, keeping dishwasher clean and debris-free.
• Check water temperatures and maintain sanitation equipment.
• Take out all garbage.
• Assist with dining room service as needed, e.g. pouring beverages.
• Stock food on shelves and in refrigerator.
• Report problems in the kitchen or dining room to supervisor.
