Job summary

Covenant Living Communities and Services is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper in the Chicago, IL area. The role focuses on cleaning campus areas, minor maintenance tasks, and supporting residents and staff while upholding infection control standards.

The ideal candidate has housekeeping or maintenance experience, reliable English communication, and a willingness to work weekends. A robust benefits package is offered for full-time employees.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Housekeeping and/or general maintenance experience.
• Good English communication skills (verbal and written).
• Reliable, able to follow schedules and procedures with limited supervision.
• Interest in working with older adults desired.
• Weekend availability may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning in assigned areas following schedule and infection control guidelines.
• Complete minor maintenance tasks as needed (bulbs, toilets, batteries).
• Clean inside and outside areas per department standards.
• Maintain floors (mopping, waxing, buffing, etc.).
• Assist with spill cleanup and emergency cleaning as observed or reported.
• Deep clean rooms/units during transfers or discharges.
• Move furniture and assist residents during transfers.
• Participate in linen program and bed making as needed.
• Observe and report facility repairs.
• Receive supplies and assist with deliveries and snow/ice removal.
