Job summary

Covenant Retirement Communities & Covenant Care is seeking a Housekeeper to provide cleaning and minor maintenance across the Evanston campus. The role supports residents and staff by maintaining clean, safe facilities in accordance with standards.

Ideal candidates have housekeeping experience, strong English communication, and a dependable mindset. Weekend availability may be required, with a comprehensive benefits package for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• High school education required.
• Housekeeping or general maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbal and written.
• Dependability and ability to organize daily cleaning schedule.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with limited supervision.
• Interest in and desire to work with older adults.
• May require weekend availability.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning functions in assigned areas following schedules and infection control guidelines.
• Complete minor maintenance including light bulbs, plunging toilets, and battery changes.
• Perform cleaning tasks inside and outside per department standards.
• Maintain floors (sweeping, mopping, buffing, etc.) and assist with spills.
• Move furniture and assist in resident transfers as needed.
• Participate in campus linen program and bed-making in guest rooms or residences.
• Observe and report repairs needed to facilities, furniture, fixtures, or equipment.
