Job summary

Hawthorn Senior Living is seeking a dedicated team member to keep resident apartments and common areas clean, while assisting with meal service. This universal position includes cross-training in other duties as directed by the supervisor to support a warm, well-run community.

The role emphasizes sanitation, patient communication, and ability to work in a fast-paced, busy environment, with a focus on resident comfort and safety.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to perform housekeeping duties following sanitation standards and current guidelines.
• Ability to communicate with residents about care and cleaning of their apartments.
• Ability to present meal alternatives to residents and guests.
• General knowledge of sanitation and safe food handling practices.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, with residents, guests and staff.

Responsibilities

• Clean resident apartments according to Hawthorn guidelines, including vacuuming, spot cleaning, dusting, bathroom and kitchenette cleaning, trash removal, and linen replacement.
• Deep clean resident apartments and community areas according to schedule.
• Clean community common areas, restrooms, and surfaces; maintain cleanliness to schedule.
• Serve meals: greet residents, take orders, deliver to kitchen, serve beverages, assist with meal setup and cleanup.
• Maintain food handlers permits as required to fulfill state regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
