Job summary

Hawthorn Senior Living in Bend, Oregon seeks a dedicated Universal Worker to clean resident apartments and common areas following The Hawthorn Way, and to serve meals to residents in a courteous, friendly manner.

The position is cross-trained to assist in other roles as directed by supervision, with emphasis on safety, teamwork, and excellent resident service. Candidates should be at least 18 and capable of working in a busy environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to perform housekeeping duties following sanitation standards and current guidelines.
• Ability to communicate clearly with residents about care and cleaning of their apartments.
• Ability to present meal alternatives to residents and guests.
• General knowledge of sanitation and safe food handling practices.
• Demonstrates a patient, creative attitude and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Regular on-site attendance and punctuality as scheduled.
• Maintain knowledge of Hawthorn Employee Handbook and company policies.
• Clean resident apartments according to Hawthorn guidelines, including vacuuming, cleaning surfaces, bathrooms and kitchens, and laundering linens.
• Clean community common areas per schedule, including floors, restrooms, and windows.
• Serve meals to residents: take orders, deliver to kitchen, ensure adaptive equipment is available, and clear/dress dining areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of dining areas; bus tables and reset for next meal; manage daily cleaning tasks and safety practices.
• Adhere to safety and chemical use guidelines; participate in training; protect confidential information and act as a courteous representative of Hawthorn.
