Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is hiring a Maintenance Director to oversee daily plant operations, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and major appliances. You will lead the maintenance team, manage preventative programs, and ensure safety standards and regulatory compliance across communities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Associate degree or higher preferred.
• 3+ years in maintenance management.
• 1–2 years supervisory experience.
• Experience with HVAC, electrical, drywall repair and texturing, carpentry, plumbing, painting and general maintenance.
• Ability to use general maintenance tools and participate in on-call rotation.
• Valid state driver’s license required.
• Positive team player with a passion for serving seniors.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily maintenance operations of the community.
• Budget adherence and competitive bidding for maintenance expenses.
• Procure supplies using purchase orders and bidding procedures.
• Hire, train, and manage Maintenance Technicians and housekeeping staff.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with residents and vendors.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes and safety regulations.
• Inspect grounds and buildings to maintain curb appeal and safety.
• Schedule and manage preventative maintenance programs.
• Maintain inventory of parts and supplies at proper levels.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director on bids and cost controls.
• Ensure turnover-ready vacant units and high-quality workmanship.
