Job summary

Vitality Living is seeking a full-time Cook to prepare nutritious meals for residents and visitors in a community setting. You will review menus, follow physician orders for textures and diets, and ensure safe food handling and sanitation at all times.

Responsibilities include supervising kitchen staff when the Culinary Services Director or Sous Chef is unavailable, maintaining proper portions, and promptly serving meals.

Qualifications

• Two years of institutional or full-service restaurant cooking experience.
• Able to communicate effectively in English.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Meet state health and food handler requirements.
• Understand and apply food safety and sanitation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Review menus and Daily Food Production Record for instructions.
• Prepare meals per menus, recipes, physician orders, and dietary textures.
• Adhere to food safety, sanitation, and portion-control policies.
• Ensure food and supplies are available for meals planned.
• Supervise serving carts and culinary staff in the absence of leadership.
• Serve meals attractively and on time and label/store food properly.
• Address resident food complaints and participate in required trainings.
