Job summary

Vitality is seeking a Cook to join our Culinary Services team, delivering nutritious and appealing meals to residents and visitors in our community.

Prepare food according to menus and physician orders, ensure safety and sanitation, and supervise staff in the absence of the Culinary Services Director or Sous Chef. Must be at least 21, have 2 years of institutional cooking experience, and communicate effectively in English.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Two years of institutional or full-service restaurant cooking experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Meet state or provincial health-related requirements and food handlers permit as required.

Responsibilities

• Review menus and daily production records.
• Prepare nutritious, appetizing meals according to menus, recipes, and dietary orders.
• Adhere to safety, sanitation, and portion control procedures.
• Ensure food and supplies are available for meals; supervise staff in absence of supervisor.
• Coordinate serving and clean-up, cover, label, and store food timely.
• Attend onboarding and training sessions and follow emergency plans.
