Job summary

Wexford House is seeking an experienced Cook to join our culinary team and provide nutritious, high-quality meals to residents. The role involves preparing meals according to menus, ensuring dietary requirements are met, and maintaining a clean kitchen.

You will work closely with the Dietary Manager and kitchen staff, assist in training, manage inventory, and respond to resident dietary requests while upholding health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in senior living, healthcare, or restaurant cooking preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
• Ability to follow recipes and meal plans.
• Strong organizational skills and compassion for the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: Cook meals according to menus, ensuring nutrition and dietary needs are met.
• Meal Service: Serve meals timely with quality, portion control, and presentation.
• Kitchen Maintenance: Keep a clean, sanitary kitchen following safety procedures.
• Team Collaboration: Work with Dietary Manager and staff; assist in training new staff.
• Inventory Control: Help track supplies and report shortages to management.
