Job summary

CENTERS, LLC is seeking a Lead Event Technician-Audio-Visual for Pepperdine's Mountain Waves Arena and Mullin Park project. You will maintain, troubleshoot, and support AV systems for live events, collaborating with campus stakeholders and vendors to deliver reliable, guest-centered experiences in a hybrid on-site team.

Open evenings and weekends as needed; requires strong leadership and training skills; CTS or Extron certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree OR 4 or more years of work experience.
• Two or more years of experience supporting high-profile live events, audiovisual technology, event production, broadcast support, or a closely related area required.
• Possession of CTS, CTS-I, CTS-D, Extron, Dante, or comparable professional audiovisual technology certifications is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality support for arena technology hardware, software products, audio-visual equipment, broadcast equipment, and live event technology.
• Configure, operate, test, and troubleshoot AV, broadcast, graphics, routing, and event-related technical equipment before, during, and after events.
• Lead integration testing and provide input during project planning, requirements gathering, setup, and post-event review.
• Create, monitor, and update service tickets for assigned work; document troubleshooting notes, resolutions, recurring issues, and stakeholder communications.
• Provide on-the-spot training, technical guidance, and service explanations to faculty, staff, students, clients, guests, vendors, and event partners.
• Coordinate technology resources, support event schedules, and help resolve resource conflicts when demand exceeds available capacity.
• Maintain team operations guides, training materials, frequently asked questions, equipment documentation, and shared technical resources.
• Identify service improvements based on support trends, client feedback, event outcomes, peer input, and operational assessment.
• Support clean, safe, organized, and professional workspaces, storage areas, control rooms, and shared event environments.
• Provide technical guidance, event direction, task coordination, and training support to student employees, part-time employees, temporary staff, vendors, or event support personnel as assigned.
• Site-specific responsibilities: support AV operations for Mountain Waves Arena and related spaces; represent CENTERS professionally; develop relationships with campus personnel; respond to last-minute changes by coordinating reconfiguration; assist with AV projects and upgrades; other duties as required.
