Job summary

Sentry is hiring a Claims Representative Specialist on our PL – Litigation team in the Nashville area. You will investigate, evaluate, and settle or deny litigated claims with prompt, accurate analyses.

You will verify coverages, assess liability from statements and evidence, negotiate settlements, and maintain meticulous documentation. You’ll also mentor colleagues to share expertise and support skill development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of related work experience.
• Extensive claims knowledge for litigated claims.
• Ability to review complex documents, insurance policies, coverages, medical reports, and regulations.
• Ability to make claims decisions, prioritize, and manage workload.
• Advanced writing, communication, and presentation skills.
• Advanced conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
• Technology aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Verify coverages through investigation of policy terms, conditions, and language.
• Evaluate liability by taking statements and reviewing evidence.
• Negotiate settlements within assigned authority limits.
• Comply with regulations and document decisions throughout the life cycle of the claim.
• Mentor other associates to share knowledge and help achieve goals.
