Job summary

Orion Placement, on behalf of a confidential national litigation defense firm, seeks an experienced attorney to lead complex civil defense matters in Reno, Nevada. This full-time, on-site role requires strong trial readiness and significant courtroom exposure.

Candidates must be licensed in Nevada with 4+ years of litigation experience and a proven ability to manage cases from inception through trial. Defense experience in medical malpractice or healthcare/insurance matters is strongly preferred

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active Nevada State Bar member.
• 4+ years of litigation experience.
• Strong knowledge of Nevada state and Federal court procedures.
• Excellent legal writing, research, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills.
• Proven ability to independently manage litigation matters.
• Medical malpractice, healthcare law, or insurance defense experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex litigation matters from inception through trial.
• Develop litigation strategy and advise clients throughout all phases of litigation.
• Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, discovery, legal memoranda, and settlement agreements.
• Conduct and defend depositions, attend mediations, hearings, arbitrations, and trials.
• Provide strategic legal analysis and case evaluations.
• Mentor and collaborate with junior attorneys and legal support staff.
• Maintain strong client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives.
• Deliver outstanding client service while managing multiple active litigation matters.
