Job summary

the company is seeking a Senior Linux Systems Engineer to design, build, monitor and maintain a multi-cloud distributed infrastructure with a focus on a 3,000+ server object storage project. You will lead complex technical initiatives, mentor engineers and drive process improvements.

Responsibilities include building hybrid cloud environments, optimizing kernel/storage subsystems, automating tasks with Chef/Ansible, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, reliable

Qualifications

Linux internals including virtual memory management, process scheduling, and storage I/O subsystems.
Experience with on-prem storage (block and object) and Kubernetes-native, AWS S3-compatible object storage.
Strong networking fundamentals and high-bandwidth data transfer optimization for distributed storage environments.
Proficiency with Linux performance analysis/monitoring tools and custom metrics collection.
Automation experience using Python/Go scripting and Chef/Ansible.
Excellent written and verbal communication; able to collaborate across distributed teams.

Responsibilities

Perform Linux engineering and administration for thousands of bare metal and virtual machines.
Engineer large-scale cloud environments for clustered object storage solutions with public cloud concepts.
Troubleshoot server hardware issues in a production environment.
Automate complex tasks and deploy using IaaS models with Chef or Ansible.
Configure kernel parameters, filesystems and storage subsystems for performance.
Troubleshoot complex network/storage issues to maintain SLAs/SLOs.
Write scripts/programs for automation, tools, dashboards, and alarms.
Collaborate with peers to craft robust solutions from concept to completion.
Lead technical teams, manage timelines, and track progress across inter-team dependencies.
Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge to raise technical IQ.
