Job summary

CrowdStrike is seeking a Senior Linux Systems Engineer to design, build, and maintain a complex multi-cloud object store across 3,000+ Linux servers. You will lead cross-functional efforts and mentor junior engineers while driving process improvements.

You will collaborate with teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions in a critical production environment, with a strong focus on security and reliability. This role supports remote work and requires periodic travel.

Qualifications

7+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems.
BS/MS in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent).
Deep Linux internals expertise including memory management and storage I/O subsystems.
Experience with on-premise storage and S3-compatible object storage in multi-cloud environments.
Proficient in Linux performance analysis and monitoring tools.
Automation experience using Python/Go scripting and Chef configuration management.

Responsibilities

Perform Linux engineering and administration for thousands of bare metal and virtual machines.
Engineer large-scale cloud environments for clustered object storage, including public cloud concepts.
Troubleshoot hardware issues while monitoring and operating production systems.
Automate complex tasks with IaaS models using Chef or Ansible.
Tune kernel parameters, filesystems and storage subsystems for performance.
Trace complex network/storage issues with tcpdump, iperf, iostat and custom dashboards.
