Job summary

CrowdStrike, Inc. is seeking a Senior Linux Systems Engineer to design, build, monitor, and maintain a complex multi-cloud distributed system infrastructure. The role focuses on a new S3-compatible object storage solution spanning 3,000+ Linux servers, with mentorship responsibilities for junior engineers.

The candidate will lead cross-functional projects, optimize performance, and drive process improvements in a production environment while collaborating with teams worldwide.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience on large-scale distributed systems.
• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Extensive Linux internals expertise including memory management, scheduling, and storage I/O subsystems.
• Experience with on-prem storage and Kubernetes-native, AWS S3-compatible object storage solutions.

Responsibilities

• Linux engineering for thousands of bare metal and virtual machines.
• Engineer large-scale cloud environments for clustered object storage.
• Troubleshoot hardware issues in production environments.
• Automate complex tasks with Chef or Ansible.
• Configure and optimize Linux kernel parameters and storage subsystems.
• Develop scripts and dashboards for automation and monitoring.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams globally to implement robust solutions.
• Lead technical projects and manage timelines across teams.
