Job summary

HIRECLOUT is seeking a Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain enterprise Linux servers, virtualization, and storage systems for a public-sector infrastructure supporting 200k+ residents. The role combines hands-on administration with long-term planning across multi-site initiatives.

You will lead patching, automation, monitoring, and security updates, and act as Tier 3 escalation while collaborating with technical leadership on modernization efforts.

Qualifications

• Lifecycle management patching processes for Linux systems.
• Strong hands-on Bash scripting for automation.
• Strong hands-on Linux experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with MySQL.
• Strong hands-on experience with vulnerability management in the Linux environment.
• Strong understanding of OS and application patching strategies.
• Solid communication skills with ability to present recommendations to leadership.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work styles in a dynamic environment.
• Experience with Linux administration (system updates, patching, scripting).
• Ability to work onsite 5x/week.

• Lifecycle management patching processes for Linux systems

• Lead OS and application patching workflows including compliance reporting
• Manage certificate issuance, renewals, and security-related updates
• Implement and tune system monitoring platforms for availability, performance, and alerting
• Serve as Tier 3 escalation for infrastructure-level issues
• Present updates, proposals, and project progress to technical leadership
• Support ongoing modernization initiatives including Linux updates, virtualization improvements, and backup strategy redesign
