Job summary

Talon Professional Services is seeking a Senior Linux Platform Engineer to design, automate, and maintain enterprise-grade Linux environments essential to business operations. This hands-on role requires collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions.

You will lead projects from planning through deployment, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to modernization initiatives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with Linux systems, specifically RHEL and SUSE, in mission-critical enterprise settings.
• Strong troubleshooting skills encompassing OS, kernel, storage, networking, authentication, and application dependencies.
• Proficiency with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Bash, Python, and Git.
• Solid understanding of virtualization platforms like vSphere, along with compute, server hardware, and lifecycle management.
• Hands-on experience with observability and monitoring tools including Datadog, Dynatrace, Nagios, or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NTP, LDAP/Active Directory, VPN, firewall, and load-balancing concepts.
• Familiarity with enterprise storage and backup solutions such as SAN, NAS, Veeam, NetBackup, or comparable technologies.
• Ability to lead complex technical projects, from planning through implementation and support.
