Job summary

Hamilton Barnes Associates Limited is seeking a Senior Linux Platform Engineer to join a high-performing infrastructure team. The role focuses on designing, optimizing, and automating Linux-based platforms across large-scale environments, with emphasis on performance, reliability, security, and scalability.

You will work with containerized platforms, Kubernetes, and develop automation tools using Python and Bash.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Linux/platform engineering
• Production Kubernetes experience is required
• Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash
• Deep understanding of Linux internals, performance tuning and troubleshooting
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools (Ansible/SaltStack/Puppet)
• Strong networking fundamentals and observability experience
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and modern delivery workflows
• Linux certifications (RHCE, LFCE or similar)
• Experience with container runtimes and registry management

Responsibilities

• Own and improve large-scale Linux environments with focus on performance and stability
• Work with container platforms and Kubernetes in privately hosted infrastructure
• Build automation and internal tooling using Python and Bash
• Support and improve CI/CD and deployment workflows across engineering teams
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues across OS, network, and container layers
• Strengthen system security through hardening and access control
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and security teams on platform improvements
• Support critical systems via an on-call rotation
