Job summary

SpaceXSI seeks a Sr. Software Engineer, Linux Kernel to design, build and operate the lean Linux-based OS powering our AI supercomputer network. You will work on core kernel, drivers, and networking to maximize hardware capabilities.

Applicants should have 5+ years of C/C++ systems programming, deep Linux kernel knowledge, and strong debugging skills with trace tools. On-site in Palo Alto preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on systems programming in C or C++.
• Strong OS fundamentals (scheduling, memory management, I/O) and deep knowledge of OS internals.
• Understanding of computer networking at host and device level (Ethernet, PCIe, I2C, SPI).
• Experience with debugging tools spanning kernel, network, and userspace.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a lean Linux-based OS underpinning the supercomputer network fabric.
• Write or rewrite high-performance device drivers to maximize hardware capability.
• Manage deployment, operation, and debugging in production with observability and configuration tooling.
• Collaborate with hardware teams to bring up OS on next-generation hardware.
